Posted On: 10/27/2015First Colorado Ski Resort to Open for Sking
Loveland, CO will open on October 29, 2015
Meteorologist Joel Gratz and his team at Open Snow forecasts snow for ski areas across North America. Gratz sees an El Niño winter, with about average levels of snowfall across the state, especially in the early part of the ski season. This winter’s El Nino will be one of the three strongest over the last 50 years, Gratz says. OpenSnow’s specific forecast for Breckenridge is 79% to 117% of average.
In the meanwhile, snow is predicted for later this week and next week, and temperatures continue to fall. Congratulations to Loveland Ski area on being the first Colorado Ski Resort to open for the 2015-16 season. Loveland received more than 17 inches of snow last week and will open Lift 1 at 9 a.m.
